American Aberdeen Cattle.... are easy calving, good natured cattle that are very feed efficient and maintain themselves well on grass. They have excellent taste, texture, and tenderness beef characteristics with exceptional ribeye area per hundred pounds of body weight which translates to very high yielding, high quality, high value beef carcasses.
American Aberdeen cattle are also a perfect choice for small acreage farmers. Their more moderate size makes them easy to handle and minimizes equipment requirements. Because of their efficient conversion of grass to meat, they thrive on smaller amounts of feed, whether grass or hay. This feed efficiency adds a savings value to the farm, allowing more American Aberdeens to be stocked in the same area that would support traditional cattle. Additionally, they may offer potential tax advantages of an agriculturally based property and business.
American Aberdeen's are naturally polled and docile making them an ideal choice for those new to or less experienced with cattle, used for show animals, and excellent for 4H youth programs bringing in the next generation of cattle people.
Mature American Aberdeen bulls generally fall into the range of 45-48" measured at the hip, and weigh from 1300-1600 pounds. Mature cows generally measure from 42-46" at the hip, and weigh between 900-1100 pounds.
Our story....We started raising American Aberdeen cattle in 2011. In researching this breed, we were very impressed by the docility and easy keeping of these cattle. Knowing the market of the future is desiring more efficient, quality beef cattle per acre, we have found this breed exceeds that need. Our herd has been built up to offer some exceptional, well bred Aberdeens for purchase.
Our cattle are raised in the summer on dry land pasture 5 miles west of Ephrata, Washington. They have shown to do quite well there, enabling us to stock more head per acre for longer periods of time. We winter the cattle at our farm, 11 miles northwest of Ephrata, feeding hay and bluegrass straw.
We specialize in red genetics, offering some of the best in the Western states, that include full blood and percentage cattle, as well as semen packages from exceptional bulls.
We also offer black full blood bulls, percentage bulls, bred heifers, weaned heifers, and steers for sale.
Occasionally, we offer bred cows for sale and guarantee our bred animals to be bred, or bring them back for a full refund or pick another animal.
We do not believe in growth hormones and try to raise these cattle as natural as we can. We enjoy educating others about the American Aberdeen breed and the benefits they can bring to your herd.
